March 13, 2017: DUE SOUTH BREWING EXPANDS DISTRIBUTION TO TAMPA AND WEST FLORIDA THIS WEEK
Following a distribution agreement with Brown Distributing, Due South beers first began appearing throughout the larger markets of Tampa, St. Pete and Naples on March 13. Overall, Due South will increase its range from Citrus County to Collier County, expanding its reach by an additional 15 counties. The Boynton Beach brewery's beer will be available throughout the area as roll-out continues to occur. Due South beers are currently available from Jacksonville to the Keys, as well as in the Tallahassee and Orlando markets.
Says Doug Fairall, Due South Brand Marketing Manager: "People have been pounding on our doors for us to come to the Tampa market. It's a mature beer market with a lot of great breweries, and ... people there know good beer when they taste it."
Launch events are scheduled around the Tampa area for the week of March 20 and will feature the Due South year-round beers and a few unnamed specialty kegs. Events include:
Monday, March 20, 6pm: Boneyard, 1823 E. 7th Ave, Tampa
Tuesday, March 21, 7pm: The Stein and Vine, 827 W. Bloomingdale, Brandon
Wednesday, March 22, 7pm: Mermaid Tavern, 6719 N. Nebraska Ave., Tampa
Thursday, March 23, 7pm: The Brass Tap, 2000 Piazza Ave., Wesley Chapel
Friday, March 24, 7pm: The Pour House, 1208 E. Kennedy Blvd., Tampa
Due South Brewing has earned a number of medals for its beers, including a Gold for its Oaked Category 5 IPA at the recent 2017 Best Florida Beer Championships in Tampa. It is also known for its medal-winning Mariana Trench® Imperial Stout, released annually in January. (See story on this site about Trench Day and additional background about the brewery.)
