FUNKY BUDDHA BREWERY RELEASES 2018 DISTRIBUTION SCHEDULE, ANNOUNCES NEW PRODUCT, PACKAGING, AND CANS
January 10, 2018, Oakland Park, FL: Funky Buddha Brewery has announced a revamped distribution schedule for 2018, along with revealing new packaging and new beers to its lineup.
Beginning in February, the brewery will begin distributing its core brands in 12 oz. cans in six- and twelve-packs. Shortly thereafter, Floridian Hefeweizen and Hop Gun IPA will also be available in 16 oz. cans, according to a released statement. Further, the brewery has redesigned its packaging to bring the Funky Buddha logo to the forefront.
In addition to Floridian Hefeweizen, Hop Gun IPA, and Pineapple Beach Blonde Ale, Funky Buddha will introduce "Vibin' IPA" as a core brand. The new IPA weighs in at 5.8% with "vibrant layers of tropical flavor and aroma from loads of late-addition citra and mosaic hops" and a "crisp, balanced body." The beer will debut in March in 12oz cans and bottles. To allow for the new IPA, Funky Buddha is removing Hop Stimulator Double IPA from distribution, but the beer will continue to be served in the tap room.
The 2018 distribution calendar includes four "series" of beer releases. The Limited Core Series (No Crusts Peanut Butter & Jelly Brown Ale and Last Snow Coffee and Coconut Porter) will be released twice a year in four-pack, 12-ounce bottles and draft, due to consumer feedback and demand.
A new series of beers, the Goodness Series, consists of seasonals, with each being released in three-month intervals in four pack 12 oz. bottles and on draft. These are: Huki Idol Tropical DIPA (brewed with passionfruit and lime juice and dry-hopped with Mosaic and real mint), Key Lime Pie Tart (tart wheat ale with key lime juice and vanilla), Sticky Treats (rice blonde ale with vanilla), and French Toast (double brown ale with maple syrup and cinnamon).
The Little Buddha Small Batch Series sees three new beers and three returning favorites, with bi-monthly releases in 22 oz bottles and on draft. These include: Maple Bacon Coffee Porter (porter with maple syrup, coffee, and spices); I Want It Now! (Gose brewed with tropical fruits and kettle salts; Wide Awake It’s Morning (Imperial Maple Bacon Coffee Porter); Black Currant Tripel Lindy (Belgian-style tripel infused with black currants); Save Some Room For Later (Double brown ale with coconut and chocolate); and
I’m So Excited, I’m So Scared (Roasty imperial stout with coffee and vanilla).
Rounding out the beer series is the Living Barrel Series, a set of four barrel-aged beers to be distributed in 22 oz. bottles and on draft. The brewery will increase its barrel-aged program to include unique wine and spirits casks, including Whiskey, Rum, Tequila, Cabernet, and more. The series includes The Love Below (Cabernet and Bourbon double barrel-aged imperial stout with cherries and chocolate added); Morning Wood: (Bourbon barrel-aged imperial Maple Bacon Coffee Porter); Mexican Coffee (Tequila barrel-aged imperial stout with coffee and cinnamon); and Last Buffalo in the Park (Bourbon barrel-aged Imperial Last Snow).
