TAMPA BAY BREWING CO. ANNOUNCES REFRESHED LOGO, BRANDING AND NEW LOOK FOR CANS AHEAD OF TAMPA BAY BEER WEEK; ANNOUNCES "HOP SILO" SERIES
Tampa Bay Brewing Co. has announced a refreshed logo and branding, along with a new look for its cans.
"Like most mature organizations, our brand identity has slowly morphed over time and was due for a more significant refresh to better reflect our spirit and uncorporate culture," said Managing Partner David Doble in a statement released by the brewery. "Furthermore, both internally and on the street, people have been referring to us as TBBC for years ... This was a rare opportunity to embrace the community-given nickname in a manner that was not confusing to our long-standing customers."
Customers will begin to see the new logo immediately on all TBBC packaged products, marketing materials, and merchandise, as well as on-site at the brewery's two Tampa brewpubs in Ybor and Westchase. With over 20 years of history and identity, "the complete transition will not happen overnight," added Larry Costigan, Creative Director. "We've been plannimg this change for over a year and are excited to finally see it roll-out in an impactful way, and just in time for Tampa Bay Beer Week."
The brewery released the refreshed design change last month with the release of a new Old Elephant Foot IPA can. Similar designs will also appear on the Reef Donkey Pale Ale cans. Seasonal releases, such as Last Days of Summer, Florida Tart, Gourds Gone Wild and Gingy, will also feature the new look.
In addition, TBBC has introduced its new "Hop Silo" series, a limited release collection of hop-centric beers, which are also packaged under the refreshed branding. The first of these is "Hop Silo #1," an Imperial Pilsner brewed in collaboration with Cigar City Brewing, according to the statement. "This new series, which will include three unique styles of beers that celebrate the creative use of hops, will release quarterly in limited case quantities and be available via distribution," remarked Doble. Future releases include Hop Silo #2, a collaboration with Pipeworks Brewing (Chicago), which will be brewed during Tampa Bay Beer Week, and Hop Silo #3, a New England Style IPA.
Be on the lookout for the new can designs across all markets in the TBBC distribution footprint. Those in Jacksonville, where distribution has recently begun, may not be familiar with the previous branding and can designs, so stay tuned for the newly-designed product entering the market.
