PALM BEACH SUMMER BEER FEST INDOORS, JULY 21

July 18, 2018:   Heat? Rain? Wind? No worries! If it's mid-July, it's time for the Annual Palm Beach Summer Beer Fest! This year's edition returns to the South Florida Fairgrounds on Saturday, July 21, from 2-6pm. And, before you say "baby, it's hot outside," just remember that this fest is inside in the A/C. No matter what Mother Nature dishes out on the outside, it's all cool on the inside.

Set up in the Expo Center, attendees will have their choices of over 200 craft beers to sample.  Local South Florida breweries will, of course, be on the scene, along with regional, national and international brands. Feet will tap and bodies will move to the sounds of live music from three different bands on stage all afternoon.

Although beer is the main event, the fest also includes bourbon and whiskey tasting from Hillbilly Bourbon, along with tastings of bacon brownies, craft beer donuts, and craft ice cream.  The fest also includes games, such as cornhole, Jenga and Plinko, and participants can win prizes for playing. Munchies are no problem, with ten food trucks just outside at the Food Truck Invasion.

Proceeds from ticket sales benefit Little Smiles of Florida, an organization benefiting children with serious medical conditions, from Miami-Dade to St. Lucie Counties.

Two levels of fest tickets are available: VIP ($75), which gets you in an hour early at 1pm, together with limited beer releases during the first hour, a full-size mug and food certificate; and General Admission ($45), which offers entry at 2pm. Tickets are available online via the fest website link at the top.

It's always one hot time in South Florida, but mid-July at Palm Beach Summer Beer Fest is one cool way to spend an afternoon. You won't even know what Mother Nature is doing outside. Take a look back at prior fests on brewnymph.com!

South Florida Fair and Expo Center is located at 9067 Southern Blvd., West Palm Beach.

Cheers!

West Palm Beach Brewery & Wine Vault: A Winning Recipe

February 18, 2018:  No matter how you mix, blend, brew, slice, dice, or pour it, based on a recent visit, West Palm Beach Brewery and Wine Vault has created a winning recipe!

The brewery, one of Palm Beach County's newest, opened in mid-December 2017. A Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting Celebration takes place on February 19 at 5:30pm.

Situated in downtown West Palm Beach on Evernia Street, the venue is the creation of West Palm Beach attorney John Pankauski. With a passion for wine, along with ownership of a Napa Valley vineyard, and a private label wine collection, Pankauski turned his attention to craft beer and set out to design a place where craft beer and fine wines could harmonize under one roof. With those elements in mind, he brought in Head Brewer Joel Kodner and Chef Andrew Castardi to lead the brewing and kitchen operations, respectively. Add in experienced General Manager Bruce Edel to the mix, and the new craft brewery has the ingredients for a unique neighborhood establishment.

No Bones About It: Mathews Brewing Co., Lake Worth

February 8, 2018:   It might not be too often that you walk into a brewery that's only been open just over a month and expect things to be running like it's been around a while. No bones about it: Mathews Brewing Company, Lake Worth, is already up and running like a big dog.

Maybe it's the engineering and homebrewing background of Owner Dave Mathews (not the band and concert guy, but we'll get to that). Maybe it's the commercial brewing experience of Head Brewer James Retzler. The ingredients all add up to a recipe that's pretty doggone good from the tap room to the outdoor patio... to the beer.

First, you have to get there. If you're not familiar with Lake Worth, a quick search on your favorite online map shows the location about a half mile west of I-95 near US 1. The brewery is situated in an older mixed industrial/commercial/residential area that might not look like a home for a sparkling new brewery. The building itself, which formerly housed the Lake Worth Herald, stands out, with its crisp white exterior and gray trim. Just look for the dog-and-crossbones.

It Was A Party in Palm Beach: Palm Beach Summer Beer Fest

Little Intimate Indoor Party With A Few Thousand Beer-Lovin' Friends

You knew right away when you turned into the South Florida Fairgrounds and Expo Center off of Southern Blvd. that there were just a few people here for the Palm Beach Summer Beer Fest.  Once you found a parking space and made your way in the line to the front door, the sounds of the band came through loud and clear.  This was a party, to be sure.  It was Palm Beach Summer Beer Fest 2014!
