WALKING TREE BREWERY, VERO BEACH, ANNOUNCES DISTRIBUTION TO METRO JACKSONVILLE AREA IN FEBRUARY

 January 26, 2018,
Vero Beach, FL:

Award-winning Florida brewery Walking Tree Brewery has announced that it will begin distribution in the greater Jacksonville area in February 2018.

[Ed Note, 2/27/ 2018: The area Launch Events have been announced, beginning in St. Augustine on February 28, then in Jacksonville March 1, and Fernandina Beach March 2. See the "Tap This" page on this site for details.]

The brewery has partnered with Jacksonville-based Champion Brands to bring the Walking Tree Brewery beers to the markets of Duval, Nassau, Clay, Putnam, Baker and St. Johns counties. “Walking Tree has a reputation for making great beer that precedes their arrival to the Northeast Florida market.  We’re fortunate to partner with such an awesome group of people as we continue to grow craft beer in our area," said Earl Sutton, Champion Brands Off-Premise Craft Brands Manager in a statement released by the brewery.  "Between the shared values of our companies and the unique offerings for our market, we can’t wait to get these beers on tap around town.”

WALKING TREE BREWERY, VERO BEACH, RELEASES BOTTLES OF TWO NEW BOURBON BARREL-AGED BEERS, OCTOBER 27

Vero Beach, FL:  Award-winning brewery Walking Tree Brewery releases bottles of its two latest beers from the brewery's  barrel-aged program on Friday, October 27, at 4pm, in the Vero Beach tap room.

Walking Tree's Barnacled Manatee Barleywine is the reigning Best Beer in Florida, as named by the Best Florida Beer competition held in Tampa in March. For the brewery's First Anniversary this past July, the brewers  released a red wine-barrel aged version of the beer aged in French Oak red wine barrels for eight months. According to a statement from Daniel Rey, Operations Manager, another portion of the base beer was aged in bourbon barrels for eight months. Barnacled Manatee Barleywine is brewed once each year.

Walking Tree Brewery, Vero Beach, Celebrates Runaway First Year

When a brewery picks up three medals at Best Florida Beer Championship, has one of those named Best Beer in Florida, and is then awarded the title of Best Small Brewery in the state, that's a reason to celebrate. But, to have all that happen in your first year as an operating brewery? Yeah, that probably calls for a large-scale anniversary bash. Walking Tree Brewery did just that as it threw one huge party in Vero Beach last Saturday, July 15 to mark its first anniversary.

Beer (and Wings) to the East; Wings (and Beer) to the West: Time Flew By at Florida Craft Brew and Wing Fest

February 17 ... 2018. That's the date for the 7th Annual Florida Craft Brew and Wing Fest, and it will be here before you know it. But, wait a minute ....  let's take a look at THIS year's fest first:

The 6th Annual Florida Craft Brew and Wing Fest, presented by Sunrise Rotary, again took place at the Royal Palm Pointe Park in Vero Beach, Saturday, February 18. As in years past, being a family-friendly event, this fest had something for everyone, from barbecue wing vendors to craft beer tents to two stages of continuous foot-stomping-sing-along live music. Check out this site's preview story from last week.

On a Wing and A Beer: Florida Craft Brew & Wing Fest Set to Host Thousands in Vero Beach Saturday, February 18

Hungry?  .... Wings.
Thirsty?  .... Beer.

Back for its 6th year, the Florida Craft Brew and Wing Fest is again set to take over Royal Palm Pointe Park in Vero Beach on Saturday, February 18. Presented by Sunrise Rotary Club Vero Beach, the fest will feature 17 local wing vendors, over 200 craft beers, and two stages of live music all afternoon. Wanna bring the kids? No problem: it's also a family-friendly event, featuring a new root beer tasting contest for the kids this year. In addition to the many different types of wings, you'll also find pizza, burgers and snacks. Sodas are also available.

A Tale of Two Weekends...And, Two Florida Beerfests

If you follow this blog and/or related social media sites, you know that I have a penchant for craft beer (yeah, it's true). And, what better way to get to know new breweries and new beers and enjoy already-known favorites than by attending beerfests! At the beginning of 2016, I posted a get-your-tastebuds-ready story about "Beerfest Season" in Florida. Well, here's the end of February, we're two months in, and it's been quite the whirlwind of beerfests! I've been to a few already (see prior posts). (You can also take a look at the "What Did You Miss" page on this site for a recap; and, ahem, plan better for next year.)

Hello, Florida BeerFest Season 2016!

It's the last week in January.  While that might be equated with the usual two-week cold snap (Florida chill - who else has needed a big ol' blanket recently?), it also means that BeerFest Season is here in Florida!  The new year started off with Key Largo Brew on the Bay and Funky Buddha Brewing's Maple Bacon Coffee Porter Day (see my MBCPDay blog post!).

Check out my BeerSphere Events page for beerfests and other special events throughout the year (it's constantly updated; I even put links in to make it easy for ya). Include beerfests in your travel plans! (along with golf, scuba, beach bumming, birdwatching, concerts, etc. - but somehow I always find time for the beer!)
